 On April 21, 2012, Dr. Mark Peterson was declared the 2012 Veterinarian of the Year by the Veterinary Medical Association of New York City.

This award to given to Dr. Peterson in recognition of his many services to the veterinary professional and his contributions to the Veterinary Medical Association of New York City.

Dr. Peterson Lectures to Packed House at Second Animal Endocrine Seminar

Dr. Mark E. Peterson lectured to a packed crowd of over 80 veterinarians from the tri-state area on Sunday, March 18th at the second Animal Endocrine Seminar. The seminar was held at Antun's in Elmsford, NY and was open to members of the veterinary community.

Dr. Peterson's seminar was sponsored by Dechra Veterinary and Antech Diagnostics, allowing him to offer the seminar at no cost to the attending veterinarians. The four lectures presented on March 18th were:

• Update in the Management of Hypercalcemia in Dogs and Cats
• Update on Hyperthyroidism in Cats
• Management of the Difficult Diabetic
• Treatment of Cushing's Syndrome: Vetoryl or Lysodren?

Dr. Peterson Currently Leading a Seminar on Animal Endocrinology

Dr. Peterson is currently leading a 4-hour seminar in Westchester, NY: four lectures on various topics in canine and feline endocrinology. This is a free seminar for veterinarians and veterinary professionals, and it is the second in our AEC Seminar Series. Perils and Pitfalls in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Endocrine Diseases 

This seminar will take place on March 18th in Westchester County, NY. AEC Seminars are free and are open to veterinarians and veterinary technicians. The March 18th seminar will deal with several of the most common canine and feline endocrine disorders.

Dr. Mark E. Peterson and Dr. Rhett Nichols will discuss Hyper- and Hypothyroidism, Thyroid and Parathyroid Tumors, Primary Hyperparathyroidism, Idiopathic Hypercalcemia, Diabetes mellitus, Cushing's syndrome, and Hyperaldosteronism.

Dr. Mark Peterson Receives Prestigious Award from The New York State Veterinary Medical Society

On December 8, 2011, Dr. Mark Peterson was awarded the President's Citation from the New York State Veterinary Medical Society.

This award to given to Mark in recognition and appreciation of his outstanding guidance and success in his role in organizing the speakers for the program of the annual New York State Veterinary Conference.

The New York State Veterinary Conference provides three days of high-quality continuing education to hundreds of veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and students from across New York State and throughout the Northeast. This conference is hosted by the New York State Veterinary Medical Society and Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine and is held each fall in Ithaca, New York.
